Here I am again trying to do my best, to sum up in a matter of words, our experiences thus far! Our life is rather chaotic and exciting all at the same time. We have enjoyed, endured and experienced Stockholm since our last post. Mark has officially begun work at the university. Oh, and we are still living in the hotel out of the same bags we have been for the last 2 months! HMMMMM, no I'm not anxious to be in our apartment with our own things.
All is well! Even my anxiety about getting into the apartment and recieving our household goods pales in comparison to our experiences in Sweden! We actually have the keys to our apartment and have been working on the light fixtures just to get out of the hotel a bit! LOL The apartment does not come with light fixtures so we have learned to be amature electricians. Seeing as how each room differs in the type of connections we Have made several trips to the store to get it right! I believe I finally finished them today...all without any electric shocks! LOL The kids love going to the apartment just to spread out a bit and play in the courtyard. I have actually videoed the flat but I cannot seem to locate my computer adapter?! When I do I will post the video here for those who may want to see. Here is our street we live on!
Our apartment is the second balcony you can see on the far corner! We are the 5th set of windows up but it's called the 3rd floor???Go figure!
Since we last posted we enjoyed a weekend away in Stockholm Sweden. The train ride was an experience but definitely not a bad one! I was unsure of what to expect, but like all things once you get the hang of it it is not so intimidating! Here are several pictures of our trip!
Mark and the children about to walk through the Royal Archway that leads to the Palace, Chapel, Gunnery and more!
Zach and Brooklyn after Zach got called out by the Royal Guard for getting too close to the cannons and Gunnery! LOL
Brooklyn enjoying a photo op with one of the many fantastic sculptures!
Our trip to the Vassa Museet (museum)! This was Mark's big adventure and I have to admit it was fascinating! The ship sank in the 1600's on it maiden voyage! It didn't even get out of the harbour before sinking! Due to the low salt content in the harbour the ship as you see it is 95% original! They brought it up off the sea floor in 1961. The unbelievable carvings and woodworking are breathtaking!
Brooklyn and Zach on the traditional DALA horse of Sweden!
Love you guys and miss you all! I will end with some random pictures of our new town...Malmo!
